In-person lectures at the LMU
Somehow normality in the winter semester 2021/21
The decisions of the Bavarian State Government on 1.09.2021 allow in-person events (i.e. seminars, workshops, conferences) at full room capacity (seats).
The current Bavarian Ordinance on Infection Control (available in German only) allows in-person classes at universities in compliance with the following:
- If the 7-day-incidence exceeds 35, the 3G rules applies. This means that only those who are fully vaccinated, have recovered from a COVID-19 infection or can provide a negative COVID-19 test result may participate in class. A negative COVID-19 test result is valid if it is not older than 48 hours in case of a PCR test or 24 hours in case of an Antigen test (“Schnelltest”).
- A medical face mask (surgical mask) must be worn. Masks may be removed when seated or standing in one spot if the minimum social distance of 1,5m to the next person can be maintained.
All in-person classes at LMU are required to observe the regulations on infection control for theoretical and practical courses (e.g. laboratory work) provided by LMU.
The mandatory guidelines for infection control ("Rahmenhygienekonzept Universitäten" of 21.09.2021- available in German only are in effect. Based on this, LMU is currently revising its own concept for infection control that will be published on our website shortly.
